Surroundings

Teilingen Residence is located in a lovely green area in Buitenveldert, just a few minutes from the Zuidas and the Amsterdam ring road. This area offers a lot of opportunities. You can take a lovely walk in the Amsterdamse Bos – located within walking distance! In the luxury shopping centre ‘Gelderlandplein’, you will find not only the supermarket but also luxury boutiques and specialist shops. The city centre of Amsterdam is easily accessible by public transport from the van Boshuizen stop or Station Zuid, as well as by bicycle!

Accessibility

Teilingen Residence is a convenient location due to its excellent accessibility, just on the outskirts of the city centre. There are various exit roads (Ring A10, exit S108 and S109 and A9) and options for public transport. Paid public parking is available right next to the building as well as the possibility of applying for a parking permit.

History

The history of Teilingen Residence does not go too long back in time. Buitenveldert was designed as a ‘garden city’ of Amsterdam, with its own shops, schools, churches, lots of green and playgrounds. The facilities offered residents a high degree of independence from the city. In 1955, the development of Buitenveldert started and the entire area was raised with sand from Loosdrecht. The foundation stone for Buitenveldert was laid in 1958, and the first residents were able to move in a year later. Most of the garden city was built in the 1960s, including Teilingen Residence.

The main streets are named after the bailiffs of Amstelland, other streets are named after Dutch provinces and castles and country houses. Teilingen Residence is therefore not only named after the street, but also after the bailiff Van Teylingen.

Next door to Teilingen Residence is the Gijsbrecht van Aemstel Park located, where you will find ‘Trapveldje Playground’. Here children can play in a natural environment with, among other things, climbing frames and swings.

The Amstelpark, situated next to the Gijsbrecht van Aemstelpark, also offers playing facilities for children. This park brings a petting zoo, miniature golf and restaurants.

The Amsterdamse Bos, at only 1.2 km from Teilingen Residence, also has several children’s playgrounds. Here you will also find an outdoor children’s pool where children can splash in the low water during the summer.

Parks: which parks can be found near Teilingen Residence?

Next to Teilingen Residence is the Gijsbrecht van Aemstel Park located. This is a small park right next door. Ideal for walking your dog or taking small children, as the park also has its own playground.

Right of the Gijsbrecht van Aemstelpark lies Amstelpark. Here you will find a petting zoo, miniature golf and restaurants where you can enjoy a drink and bite.

The Amsterdamse Bos is also nearby, at just 1.2 km away. This forest is ideal for a long walk alone or with your family. In the Amsterdamse Bos you will also find playgrounds and eateries.

Airco: is there an airco available in my apartment?

There is no airco included in the apartments of Teilingen Residence.

Pets: can I bring my pet with me?

Per apartment 1 pet up to a maximum of 20kg may be brought to Teilingen Residence.

A supplement of €15 per pet per night will be charged.

Parking: does Teilingen Residence own a private parking lot?

Teilingen Residence does not own a private parking lot. However, you can rent a garage box to safely park your vehicle.
Please note that there is only a limited number of garage boxes for rent.

You can park your car on the street at a charge. You can pay via the parking meter on the corner of the street or online via the website of the municipality. On this website, you can choose a day ticket or a weekly or annual subscription.

These subscriptions can also be arranged for you at the reception.

Registration: Where do I go for my official registration?

For registrations within the municipality of Amsterdam, you need to go to the Public Affairs desk in the municipal building.
